One interesting theory I€ve read about the hairlessness is this:
The early hominid could have become aquatic for a period. If so the hair
would have been bad for the hominid and made her cold. Instead she decrased
the amount of hair and got a thicker layer of fat tissue to keep her warm.

But why did she keep long hair on the head? Perhaps was it usable to the children
to hold on to when the mother had to escape quickly.

I don€t know. Who does?
