Paul,
I have a question about bipedalism, since you all seem to be
discussing it, why did Lucy decide to walk upright?
I read all these discussions as to how Lucy and other a.a.'s
walked, and I can find many articles on this topic, but none on
'why'. What would be the reason for a ape to homid creature to
decide that bipedalism would be an easier way of getting
around. After all, the old way was quicker in many aspects,
running climbing and such. Is food gathering the only logical
reasoning for our ancestors to decide to walk upright?
