Well, Jared Diamond has an interesting concept of taxonomy and
systematics. Homo troglodytes, lets' see this species must have evolved
from the Australopithecines. No wait, that would mean reverse evolution.
Chimps tried bipedalism and didn't like it. I hope that isn't part of
Diamond's argument. Taxonomy really shouldn't be done on the DNA level,
IMO. Then again, it does solve the problem somewhat of the lack of
non-bipedal hominoid fossils.
