I'd like to see some real discussion of this subject. I've read of
others who have studied archeo-linguistic origins of languages. There
are supposed to be certain root words common throughout large language
families which date back to very long ago (perhaps 6-10k+ years ago).
For instance, certain root words dating back to early farming activities
can be used to trace ancient people movements and the orgins of certain
agricultural techniques. Even earlier, some root words have been claimed
to date back to the first domestication of animals and can similarly be
used to trace language origins and people movements.
Perhaps we can get someone with expertise in this area to comment and
educate us, especially with some specific examples and what the
implications of these examples are.
Thanx!
