You must not know Tim very well. I wasn't around when he (and
Berhane Asfaw and Gen Suwa, right?) was doing the preliminary work on
ramidus, but I have a hard time accepting his lust for fame or funds
as the reason for his changing Australopithecus to Ardipithecus. I
don't know the details of their reasons, but knowing Tim (fairly
well), Berhane and Gen (very slightly)I'll bet they have them. I'll
wait to check out the evidence when they publish fully.
