Hello,
In answer to your question.... the book is The Origin of
Consciousness in the Breakdown of the Bicameral Mind by Julian Jaynes.
I think it is a provocative yet highly speculative theory about the
development of human consciousness. There is a good refutation of it in a
small book called Science and Unreason by Radner & Radner. Good Luck
