not every biological characteristic has aan 'adaptive" or
useful function. this concept is of course nicely played
out in tephen j. gould's books. asians may have the eyefold
because asian women prefered men with the eyefold, and
selected for it with their esthetic preferences. those with
the eyefold, or "proto eyefolds", got laid more often. as
for the earwax, you're on your own with that one.
