As far as your reference to jazz, the Dept. of Music at University of New
Orleans has a very good Jazz Studies program. Ellis Marsalis is one of
the profs in this department. I don't know if ethnomusicology is
part of their course content or of any ties there may be b/t the music
dept & anthro dept. I believe the main number of the school is
