Why I Consulted Hugh

My sarcastic post defending myself was in reaction to a strongly worded
post attacking my action in consulting Hugh before posting a reaction to
D. Yee's review of my book. The attack, I failed to notice, had been
posted to me rather than to the list. I apologize to my critic and to
