I agree that Churchland is everything you say; her forte is explanation
by example -- that is indeed the reason I quoted from the review of
Gell-Mann's "Quarks and Jaguars." Explication by example is, I'm sorry
to say, what has been sadly lacking in the various recent discussions on
this list a bout
aspects of science and anthropology which have therefore been, forgive
