DANIEL S.DAVIDSON COMMEMORATION

Bruce Rigsby and Mary Laughren (University of Queensland) and
I would like to mark the centenary of D.S. Davidson (born
1900) with a commemorative volume (to appear in 2000). Our
group is particularly interested in his Australian work, which
included important contributions to material culture studies
and to the reconstruction of forms of social organization. We
wish to contact interested people in North America who could
write or gather material related to his North American work. I
will be attending the AAA meeting in San Francisco in November
and could convene a brief meeting about this project.
