--- I think I will soon be entering anthropology folklore as one or more
archetypal personalities: the "stupid" ethnographer who didn't know a role
when he saw one; the "irritated" ethnographer who was chagrined that the
informants kept getting in the way of his cognitive categories; the
"sensitive ethnographer" who sent home mail-bombs to all of his cognitive
categories and 'went native' ---
Would you be surprized if I planned this all along as a folklore
experiment! Alas, I'm not that smart or foresightful! Carry on! As
Sherlock Holmes said to Dr. Watson (paraphrased): 'Some of us are
lightbulbs, others the wires carrying the juice.' Better one than none!
