The Department of Anthropology, University of Lethbridge, seeks three
Assistant Professors; two tenure-track appointments beginning July 1, 1996,
subject to budgetary approval; and one ten-month term appointment
beginning August 1, 1996.

Ph.D. required, with a strong research and publication record and a
demonstrated commitment to teaching. These sociocultural positions
are topically open, but preference may be given to broadly-grounded
candidates with demonstrated ethnographic research experience and
competence in two or more of the following: (a) applied, discourse
studies, ethnic relations and/or nationalism, gender, media studies,
medical, public culture, urban; (b) theory (historical and/or contemporary),
methods (fieldwork, feminist, community-based and/or textually-oriented);
(c) a cultural orientation to symbolism, ritual, religion or politics;
(d) an ethnographic area.

In accordance with Canadian Immigration Regulations, this advertisement

The current salary for an Assistant Professor is $37,350.00 minimum
per annum.
