Just a brief message to someone who emailed me privately, and I
pressed the wrong button (delete rather than print) and lost his
address. Re the British definition of race as sociocultural rather
than biological..I don't know if this is valid, or what their
historic definition of the term is, exactly. However, i would suspect
that their (European?) understanding of 'race' is within a
sociocultural frame rather than strictly biological. cf those
'evolutionists' such as Morgan, Maine, and anyone, on either side fo
the Atlantic, brought up in the mind-set of seeing a sociocultural
trait as also a genetic characteristic. And that includes a lot of
later people than the 19th c.
