The University of South Carolina, Dept. of Anthropology and African-
American Studies Program anticipate joint appointment of an Assistant
Professor with tenure track in Anthropology, starting Fall 1996. Salary
competitive. Applicants should be involved in research on the African
Diaspora in the Americas or in the Caribbean. Special attention given
to applicants working on contemporary issues in Southeastern USA.
Teaching: Introduction to anthropology and courses cross-listed with
African-American studies, both undergraduate and graduate. USC offers
BA in African-American Studies, BA and MA in Anthropology. Related
programs in Latin American studies, Women's Studies, Public Health,
and Linguistics. Candidates invited to state how their skills and
background will complement USC Dept. of Anthropology and African-
American Studies Program. Women and minorities encouraged to apply.
