UNIVERSITY OF WASHINGTON seeks Ph.D. archaeologist for a tenure-track
assistant professor position, beginning September 1995. Our preference
is for an individual with areal and technical specialization that is not
currently being represented by our archaeology faculty. We are
especially interested in an individual with experience in Old World
Paleolithic archaeology with additional specialization in lithics. All
applications, however, will be seriously considered. An established
record of field research, publication, and teaching is essential.
Teaching responsibilities include 4 courses per year; some of which will
be taught through the University's Evening Degree Program. The University of
Washington is building a multicultural faculty and strongly encourages
ethnic minority persons and women to apply. Preference will be given to
applicants who can serve well in an increasingly diverse University
community. Only applications received before December 15, 1994 are
assured of consideration. Send letter of interest, vita, and names of
four referees to: Julie K. Stein, Chair; Archaeology Search Committee,
Department of Anthropology DH-05, University of Washington, Seattle, WA
