For a number of years Dell Hymes was (and perhaps still is) Dean of the
GraduateSchool of Education at the University of Pennsylvania. Much work
was beiing done on the ethnography of the classroom. However, I have not
seen much of the work that came out of that approach. Does anyone know of
any writinggenerated during H tenure on education that explicitly used a
used an anthropological perspective?
