How many people ever heard the story that Mikey - the kid from the life
cereal commercial - ate a bunch of PopRocks (That candy that fizzes in
your mouth) and died 'cause his stomach exploded. That one seems to
have
gone around the country for a while in my youth.

The way that rumor was circulating in New Jersey in the 70's was that
Mikey died because he ate a bunch of Pop Rocks and then drank a Coke,
which caused him to blow up.

As far as the oxygen booths, I seem to remember seeing a picture n
National Geographic of an oxygen booth being used in Tokyo. I'm not
sure of the year.
