cutting of funds

I recently heard that the Newt man and his posse of republicans have
included archeological research (and other related topics) in their efforts
to cut funds. Being a fairly new Anthro. student, will this effect my
scholastic efforts in the future? Will the opprotunity be limited in my
need for field school and internships. I'm already aware of the cuts towards
federal student aid, wich I rely heavily upon.
what's the deal?
