Thanks, John, - for providing a bit more perspective and grounding for what
appears to be both a millenial reaction and a profit motive (as in, not just
one or the other). My choice of words was intended to point out that there
are emotive and spiritual attachments to these generally mimetic-capital
oriented phenomena as well. This, I think, has something to do with the
consumers' situatedness in particular historic moments with particular
associated ideologies (speaking for myself, that is).
