Octavia Butler's Xenogenesis series stars an anthropologist. Donna Haraway
refers to this series frequently in her essays. She ends her essay
"Biopolitics of Postmodern bodies with a quote:
Finally, [this is Haraway speak/writ-ing] this is the contested world
where, with or without our consent, we are located. "[Lilith] laughed
bitterly. 'I suppose I could think of this as fieldwork--but how the hell
do I get out of the field?" (_Dawn_ p. 91)
