Department of Anthropology at the University of Illinois at
Urbana-Champaign seeks a sociocultural anthropologist specializing in
Chinese ethnography for a tenure-track full-time position at the rank of
assistant professor beginning August 21, 1995. A scholar with strong
regional expertise and a sustained field program is desired. Additional
desired qualifications include PhD in-hand, publications, and demonstrable
concern for innovative undergraduate and graduate teaching, including high
competence in the candidate's special areas and in Cultural Anthropology
generally. Scholarly excellence is our primary criterion. Salary is open
depending on experience and qualifications. To assure full consideration,
