I'm a bit confused by this. Earlier in your post you wrote that
you were prepared to accept that violence, and even organised group
violence, was always going to be around. But presumably you also
believe that non-war organised group violence is morally wrong --
what makes war so different? (It doesn't make much difference to
the victims whether they are being killed or raped as a result of an
attempt at territorial control or for no reason at all.)
Personally I don't think that even a propensity to violence is "buit
into being human". (But then "built into being human", like "human
nature", makes me pull out the scare quotes at once. :-)
