Yes, of course, didn't you?
Clearly, if the hypothetical author had been a woman, the text would have
read "her" oeuvre ("her" being the the third person singular feminine
possessive pronoun). If, however, the article had been intended to be
gender-neutral, the author would surely have written "its" oeuvre.
