Oh, why bring up such painful memories. :-(

The thread I participated in was not about matriarchies per se, but was
about (1) whether the Hodenausaunee could be considered "egalitarian" as
that term is specifically used in anthropology; and (2) the historical
role of Hodenausaunee women in influencing some of the 19th century
Suffragists.

There was no conclusion.
