Joseph O'Neal's post reminded me that there is something missing in this
discussion. I am surprised no one has mentioned anthropologist and child.
There are certainly several cases where the child has been the key to the
success of the fieldwork, as the interaction between fieldworker's child
and fieldworkees' children creates the necessary kinship linkages for the
fieldworker to be situated.
