I'd like to second much of what Salovesh pointed out about the New Yorker
article, and the general perception of crack as well. Those of who monitor
the media should be aware that race is pervasive on telecasts, especially at
the local level, when it comes to violence. Likewise, it is also sexist
when it comes to victimization and stereotypes of single-parents.
