I, for one, do not think kinship is a topic which can be neglected in
anthropology, since kinship, in one or more or some form, seems to be a
nearly universaly present organizing principle in human groupings.
Furthermore, it is frequently extended metaphoricaly as in 'brotherhoods'
or 'sisterhoods' or kingship. How the various vays of constructing and
construeing kinship are presented, however, is another matter, which bears
further discussion.
