NOTE: THIS IS A FULL-TIME, RESTRICTED GRANT POSITION,
TERM APPOINTMENT WITH BENEFITS NOT-TO-EXCEED FOUR
(4) YEARS.

Duties:

Incumbent is responsible for conducting archival film research.
Locates, screens, evaluates and selects historical film footage.
Orders footage on behalf of the museum as needed. Creates and
maintains detailed records of film and video materials research
and/or ordered. Provides film and video research assistance to
museum staff and outside callers. Serves as the Department's
liaison to other museum departments and to the public.
Researches departmental needs for information and acquisition of
historical footage in outside archives. Develops finding aids
and guides to the holdings of the Film and Video Archive.
Provides research required for cataloging and database records of
the Film & Video collections. Supports the work of the Director
and the Department of Film and Video.

Qualifications:

1. Knowledge of fundamental archival principles, theoretical
concepts, and techniques.
2. Knowledge and experience in stock footage research with
specific experience pertaining to World War II and the
Holocaust.
3. Ability to understand and interpret the images and
historical context and the moving images of documentary
footage.
4. Knowledge and experience of technical requirements for
duplication of archival footage; and of placing orders.
5. Good writing skills for interpretation and presentation of
research.
6. Familiarity with the National Archives and other film
archive collections and libraries in the U.S. and abroad.
7. Excellent organizational skills.
8. Working knowledge of the German language.
9. Knowledge of and ability to use personal computers,
including various databases.

Salary Range:

GS-11 Equivalent ($37,094 - $48,222 per annum)
