I am responding to Denise O'Brien's request for examples of matriarchy. I
prefaced my assertion of martriarchies by sayin gthat it depends on how
you define a society, but if youare talking about matriarchy in terms of
who heads the "household," then my examples work quite well. The first
that came to my mind were houses of vodoun and condomble...
