Please excuse my hurried post this morning. My comment on the thread on
power, which appeared garbled, was my feeling that the thread has been too
theoretical and abstact while not grounded in social realities. I stand by
the observation that there has been little said about social structure,
class and class consciousness, race, gender, or ethnicity. The difference
between social _science_ and social _philosphy_ should be our grounding in
actual social and cultural conditions, not simply the logic of our
arguements. Relative power, and powerlessness must enter into any real
examination of social power.
