I've been in a number of circumstances where I and the group that was
sitting around me was addressed as gentlemen ... I assume that gentlemen is
still the opposite of lady as men is the opposite of women? Just watch
C-Span or any other program that shows the beginning of meeting or someone
addressing a large group and I'll bet you hear the same thing ... Ladies and
Gentlemen ... now you may have a complaint that ladies always comes first,
but beyond that I can see no evidence to support your point.
