Kinship chart software

For all the folks who are asking about some program to do kinship
charts:

If what you're asking for is a convenient way to make charts, the
nicest program I've run across is called ABC SnapGraphics. It is
remarkably easy to use and makes beautifully clear graphics for
you. It's a Windows program, and lets you use any True Type fonts
you want in labeling the symbols. It comes from MicroGrafx,
1303 Arapaho Rd., Rickardson, TX 75081. Phone 214-234-1769.

Originally it came on one of those deals where they send
you the whole program "free", with only a small charge for S/H.
(The charge was in the $5 to $10 range; I forget exactly what it
was.) The program they send you is fully functional and does the
whole kinship job extremely well. We--my wife and I--eventually
bought the deluxe version of the program for around $50 because it
does some other things we wanted to do. It does flowcharts and
organization charts (that's the template series I use for kinship)
and timelines and pyramids; it lets you design forms, questionnaires,
and lists, etc.

ABC SnapGraphics requires WIndows 3.1 or higher, 8mb hard disk space
if you install the whole thing (including associated clipart), VGA
or better, 4mg of RAM, and a mouse. And it works fine. (This is
NOT a paid advertisement !)

If what you're asking for is a program that will record kinship data,
there are several good shareware programs for doing genealogies. I
find Brother's Keeper as good as any; it's on bulletin boards, and
at least was on old editions of the PC-SIG CD.

Hope this helps.

P.S.: All right, here's what MicroGrafx says about it: "Using
graphics software has never been fast or easy. Until now. With
ABC SnapGraphics you use intelligent templates and pre-drawn
shapes to produce a whole range of charts, diagrams, and business
graphics."
