Conservation International (C.I.) aims to conserve
ecosystems, biological diversity, and the ecological
processes that support life on Earth, with special emphasis
on building local capacity. Funding sources include
foundation grants, individual gifts and donations,
membership dues, development agency and government
contracts.
The Position
C.I. seeks a Program Assistant for the Washington, D.C.
office of the Ghana Program. The position is entry level
with a base salary in the low 20's, plus benefits.
The Program Assistant will provide support for CI's Ghana
Program to include: write and edit project communicaitons;
prepare reports and proposals; procure and diliver equipment
in compliance with the scheduling and fielding of
consultants; produce a quarterly newsletter; research
relevant topics and contribute to project planning,
promotion and implementation.
Qualifications
The candidate will possess: an undergraduate degree in a
related field; demonstrated familiarity with west African
cultures; a well developed knowledge of conservation issues;
office experience; a willingness to work hard as well as
proficiency in Word Perfect, Windows, Lotus 1-2-3 and Page
Maker.
