Proposal for AAA (was: Information Needed on Boston Univ.)

About every five years, I try to suggest to the AAA
that it make the *Guide* available on-line; other
professional organizations (including those of
mathematicians, physicists, electrical engineers,
...) offer comparable services. There are reasons
anthropologists see different costs and benefits in
this than do, say EEs. However, I am quite confi-
dent now that it'd be a demonstrable net gain for
the AAA.

I have no current contacts within the hierarchy of
the AAA, and already have a full schedule of work
through at least the next year. However, if some-
one else wants to raise this with the Association,
and if Hugh and others aren't already farther along
with this sort of work than I, I'd be happy to open
my files and present a serious analysis of the pos-
sibilities.
