Dear colleague:

This memo is an appeal to become a software reviewer for the Social
Science Computer Review, a peer-reviewed publication of Duke
University Press. Now in its 12th year, SSCORE prints articles,
reports, resource listings, and book and software reviews.

We are now in the process of updating our list of software reviewers.
If you are interested in becoming one, please fill out the form below
and e-mail it to me (or send by post). We also consider unsolicited
software and book reviews for acceptance.

While there is no compensation for such scholarly activity, in most
cases the reviewer does get to keep the software reviewed.

SSCORE's winter issue each year is a special issue on the state
of the art of computing, including anthropology, with essays on each
of the social science disciplines and on related fields like
statistics and social impact studies.

Another special issue each year carries revised versions
of the best articles from the Annual Conference on Social
Science Computing sponsored by the Social Science Computing
Association (SSCA). Next year's annual meeting will be in late
spring, 1995, in San Diego -- contact me for more information or if
you wish to be a presenter.

Those interested in subscribing may obtain a sample issue
from Duke University Press, journals Department, 919-684-3600.
Subscription is by calendar year (Vol. 12 is 1994) and costs
$24 for students, $48 for individuals, and $88 for libraries.
Subscription includes SSCA membership if requested. Contact Duke
University Press, 905 Brightleaf Square, West Main St. - 18B,
Durham, NC 27701; 919-687-3600, Journals Department.

Editorial matters, including article submissions (three copies,
please) may be addressed to me at: G. David Garson, NCSU Box
8101. Raleigh, NC 27695; 919-515-3067; garson@social.chass.ncsu.edu.
