As it happens, I did call the journal. This time of year it is quite
impossible to find reviewers. They said that they would wait until
September. The author had specifically asked that I be a reviewer.
I know how frustrating it is to wait for reviews to come in. I have a
paper at a journal that is in its third year. Sometimes you have to go
through three rounds of rewrites too. But rmemeber, this is all
volunteers here.
