TWO RESEARCH FELLOWSHIPS (Post Ref: RF003)

DEPARTMENT OF MANUFACTURING AND ENGINEERING SYSTEMS/CRICT (CENTRE FOR
RESEARCH INTO INNOVATION, CULTURE AND TECHNOLOGY)

The University wishes to appoint two Research Fellows to join a
lively, multi-disciplinary team researching the social and cultural
aspects of technology transfer under an award from EPSRC.
Appointments will be from 1 October 1994, for 2+ years. Salary will
be in the range of 18,000 to 20,000, including London Weighting.

One appointment will be based in CRICT and requires an interest in the
broad area of social studies of science and technology. The other
appointment will be based in the Department of Manufacturing and
Engineering Systems and requires an interest in management of
technology/manufacturing.

LECTURESHIP IN SOCIOLOGY (Post Ref: Lec002)

DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN SCIENCES/CRICT (CENTRE FOR RESEARCH INTO
INNOVATION, CULTURE AND TECHNOLOGY)

The University wishes to appoint a Lecturer in Sociology. The
appointment will be from 1 October 1994 for two years in the first
instance. Salary will be at or near point 6 on the RA1A scale:
18,758 including London Weighting. Applications are particularly
welcomed from those with interests in the general field of social
studies of science and technology, although interests in all areas of
sociology will be considered. The appointment may include release
time from teaching duties to develop research activities in connection
with the Department's Centre for Research into Innovation, Culture and
Technology.

preference for a focus on information and communications technologies.
The appointment will be from 1 October 1994 for one year in the first
instance. The salary will be on the RA1A scale. Applications are
invited from social scientists or from others with an interest in the
broad area of social studies of science, technology and
communications.
