If scholarly bias is limited to linguistically competent searches of
data and primary and secondary sources before making any conclusion
- or statement implying a general pro or con position - then I am
in favor of that bias.

When, general statements are made discounting new or different ideas
on the basis of little more than personal opinion, I am not in favor
of that bias.

Basic rules of good scholarship . . .
