hearings are about, I believe there is something to be learned from from
these events.
A detailed study of the hearings, the use of evidence, the
challenges directed at evidence and witnesses is applicable to any
investigation, judicial or scientific. I see many controversies
in anthropology and archaeology where statements are sometimes made
without sufficient evidence, and criticism is expressed with less than
objective intent. The Simpson hearings provide a laboratory model of
argument and provenance of evidence, potentially useful to all students
who may have to render significant decisions in the future.
