For the record, I did not intend for my original message chastising Ruby
and Ralph to be distibuted to the entire list. I apologize profusely to
them if that's indeed what happened; or did someone else forward my
private post??? Nonetheless, while I am tired of the petty bickering and
arguing, I in no way meant that either Ruby's or Ralph's contributions to
the list were not valuable; I just wanted them to take their battle to
the realm of private e-mail. I for one, agree with many of Ruby's
observations relevant to sexism on this list and in our profession...in
the words of James Baldwin, "Not everything that is faced can be changed,
but nothing can be changed until it is faced." While I may not always
agree with Ruby or Ralph, at least they stand up for what they believe in.
