When you are so concerned about embarassment to the list and our
profession, you might consider the stimuli that provoke our responses.
When I see rampant sexism, lies and distortion, and unprofessional
labelling of ideas and texts, as I have, I will react as I have in the
past. You recognise it as bickering and I see it as something else. I'll
be happy to take my "petty bickering" off the list when and if I see
reasonable reactions to the above sorts of corrosion in the discipline.
