As long as people are suggesting books on theories and concepts of culture let
me suggest the book Jon McGee and I have just completed:

McGee and Warms
1996 Anthropological Theory: An Introductory History. Mayfield Pub.

The book is a collection of 38 essays with fairly extensive commentary. More
detail here would probably constitute advertisment so I won't add much. I will
be glad to send more information to anyone who requests it.

By the way, the book does contain the following acknowledgement to ANTHRO-L:

We would also like to thank the member of the electronic discussion list
ANTHRO-L. When we were unable to find a date, a definition, or a miscellaneous
