TITLE: Two Assistant Professors; nine-month term appointments in
each case, beginning 1995 08 15, subject to budgetary approval.

QUALIFICATIONS: Ph.D. The applicants should demonstrate a
significant research record, effective teaching, and the ability to
teach at least four of the following: introductory sociocultural
anthropology, social organization, applied, ritual, popular
culture, a regional area course, medical, political, religion, a
seminar in a current theoretical issue, a seminar on a contemporary
topical domain.

advertisement is directed to Canadian citizens and permanent
residents of Canada.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The successful candidates will teach a total of
six semester-long courses over the two semesters of the 9-month
appointment. We are seeking applicants with a demonstrated
commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching and scholarship.

SALARY (1994-95): Assistant Professor $37,350.00 minimum per
annum.
