Let's see if I have the argument correct:
(1) it has been suggested that since rape can lead to pregnancy, fitness is
thereby increased as the male committing rape is increasing reproductive
success--thus rape is but another example of how the occurance of behaviors
are "explained" by appeal to fitness;
(2) it has been noted that there are societies where little if any rape
occurs because males are socialized to not practise rape;
(3) presumbably males in such societies are engaging in behavior which
increases fitness and so males not practising rape are doing so out of
increased fitness;
(4) therefore rape increases fitness, and control of rape
increases fitness;
Hmm, something seems to be wrong......
