The following position announcement will appear in the Feb and March
Anthropology Newsletter:
Mississippi State University invites applications for a tenure-track,
assistant professor level position in sociocultural anthropology
beginning Fall 95 (pending budgetary approval). Geographic and topical
specializations are open, although preference will be given to candidates
with specializations in Africa, African diaspora or Africans in America
and topical interests in ethnicity and/or historical approaches to
anthropology. Candidates should have a willingness to develop an active
research program and strong commitment to undergraduate education. PhD
in Anthropology required for appointment at the Asst Professor level, ABD
considered for appointment at Instructor level. Closing date for
applications is March 31, 1995 or until filled. Mississippi State
