Applications are invited for the chair in the Department of Anthropology to
be taken up in Feb 1995. The University is seeking a person with a broad
view of socio-cultural anthropology, a commitment to the descipline and a
proven research record. Of particular interest are applications from
scholars with active research interests in the Pacific region (including
Melanesia).
Applicants must have demonstrated an ability to work with others in a
collegial environment, have had administrative experience and show
leadership abilities. The appointee will be expected to be involved in the
administration of the department and, when required to serve as
chairperson. All teaching and research is in the area of soci-cultural
anthropology.
