Usefulness of bulletin board

I wanted to check some information from Dillman's book on surveys -- but
didn't have time to look up info on reasonable expectations for survey
response. However, what is reasonable to expect in terms of responses is
pretty darn low. And, I would wager a cup of coffee and a doughnut that if
you're looking at communications going back and forth and not sending out a
query or an opinion and yet are still getting back one relevant letter per
60 and two helpful letters out of 600, you're doing well! JW
