I read and loved both Maus books when htey first came out, and we (my husband
and I) have lent them to many of our friends, including children of holocaust
survivors. I'm glad this topic came up now as I am currently teaching cultural
anthro using Barbara Myerhoff's Number Our Days as one ethnography. I used it
last semester and the student's loved it, and so far this semester they have
been pretty receptive. I will recomend the Maus books as optional/extra credit,

perhaps putting my own copy on reserve if our library doesn't own it.
