Kudos to Mike Salovesh on relativity in ethnographic research. True, most of w
hat I'm deploring as ideological relativism is outside anthropology. But that l
eads to a discussion about defining the field, since I have encountered a few
who acted like arrogant ideological relativists and still had proper anthropo-
logical credentials.
